Job Description

Completed a nursing assistant course or equivalent experience or completed a nursing or health care related clinical practicum course. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Education
*High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience
*One year of previous Nursing Assistant experience or equivalent experience preferred.

Skills and Abilities
*Proficient communication critical thinking and prioritization skills required.
*Strong organizational skills.
*Excellent customer service skills.
*Must be able to read write and speak effectively in English to perform functions of the position.
*Skills in basic computer operation.

The posted salary represents a market competitive range based on salary survey benchmark data for similar roles in the local or national market. Department Overview

Our Minneapolis 6th floor is a 33bed pediatric medical/surgical unit that cares for a spectrum of children from infants to young adults suffering from both acute and chronic medical conditions. Our team of dedicated professionals specializes in the care of patients with cystic fibrosis respiratory conditions noncritical trauma neurological conditions (both medical and postop surgical recovery) and urological conditions (both medical and postop surgical recovery). Our patients have an average length of stay ranging from days to several weeks for a specialty diagnosis. Patients are cared for by strong interdisciplinary teams that include child life social work integrative medicine dietitians case managers and other specialists. We rely on teamwork with open and respectful communication and promote an environment that encourages learning and professional growth. Our team is committed to providing excellent care to our patients and families.


Position Summary

Provides safe patient care as delegated by licensed nursing staff and maintains equipment and supplies per unit standard.
