Job Description
Summary
Provides clinical pharmacy services throughout the hospital. Assists in staffing surgery satellite and central pharmacy in distribution areas as needed.
- Manages drug therapy protocols as a part of an interdisciplinary team.
- Reviews interprets and evaluates medication orders to identify prevent and resolve potential or actual drug related problems.
- Provides drug information and education to medical staff and patients.
- Documents interventions and their outcomes for use in drug therapy quality improvement efforts.
- Oversees and coordinates Pharmacy Technician activities as needed to ensure maintenance of a smooth workflow and all service standards are met.
- Models and helps maintain a professional atmosphere in the Pharmacy aligning with Owensboro Healths Core Commitments.
- May apply interpersonal skills and techniques to deescalate and/or attempt to resolve the conflict between two or more team members
- Bachelors degree or higher in Pharmacy required upon hire
- No experience required
- R.Ph. Licensed as a Pharmacist in the state of Kentucky required upon hire
- Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment.
- Works under minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
