HID Global is a leader in the government security and strong authentication solutions. We are currently seeking an Engineering Intern for our team. This intern could work on one or more of a variety of projects such as:
- Software user interface design and enhancements research various user interface frameworks and methodologies that could provide improved user experiences to existing software while minimizing engineering efforts needed.
- Improvements to software test automation infrastructure add or augment existing software automation tools to provide further improvements to current product quality.
- Build robotic tooling build devices to simulate human interactions with hardware devices.
- Embedded firmware development build and improve embedded linux software for specialized security devices.
- Innovation around physical access control systems design refine and implement ideas relevant to the PACS industry or other tooling to assist with the product development process.

As our Engineering Intern youll support HIDs successby:
- Collaborating with developers test and other full time engineering personnel.
- Understanding and clarifying software requirements.
- Developing test cases.
- Developing product knowledge.
- Creating scripts software tools and potentially hardware tools to assist with automated product testing infrastructure.
- Executing manual and automated tests.
- Assisting with debugging and error case reproduction.
- Documenting product defects and test fixes.
YourExperienceand Background include:
- Actively studying Computer Science Software Engineering Electrical Engineering or similar for at least two years.
- Course work involving software development or other technologyrelated product development.
- Experience with software development computer programming and basics of development environments.
- Experience with programming languages such as C C C# Java etc.
- Experience with distributed version control systems (such as Git).
- Ability to clearly describe (verbally and written) technical information.
- Excellent problem solving troubleshooting and analysis skills.
- Exceptional communication skills.
- Strict attention to detail.
- Ability to independently solve problems.
