Job Description

FullTime/PartTime AmeriCorps Program Assistant Position
Home Base Boys & Girls Clubs of the Fox Valley
The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Fox Valley is searching for talented dynamic and motivated youthfocused professionals to provide outreach support and advocacy services for youth and families experiencing challenges related to running away and/or transience and/or housing insecurities.
Primary Function
The AmeriCorps Program Assistants will use a bestpractice traumainformed approach to connecting with atrisk runaway transient and homeless youth and families. Program Assistants will work independently collaboratively as part of a team and a part of a larger collaborative community agency. Program Assistants will create program awareness and presence in the community conduct crisis intervention and response provide hotline response street and community outreach basic needs support prevention services and additional advocacy activities to youth and families in the service area.

Preferred Education and Experience
Successful candidates will demonstrate outstanding communication skills and have interest in working with vulnerable youth. Previous experience working with atrisk youth is preferred. High School diploma required. Interest or experience in Social Services and/or Human Services is preferred. Applicants must have a valid drivers license and access to a vehicle.
Term Length/Time Commitment
These positions are funded through the AmeriCorps National Community Service program.The term of service is a oneyear commitment and runs from September 2024 through August 2025. Terms of service can begin at any point in the service year
  • FullTime Members must complete 1700 hours within the service year which averages about 32 hours per week. Full time members receive a yearly living allowance of $18700 which equates to about $779.17 (with less withholdings) paid out on the 15th and the last day of each month. Members who fulfill their yearly hourly commitment receive an education award after their term of service. The 202425 education award amount is $7395. Flexible schedule is required. Primarily daytime hours with occasional evenings/weekends.
  • PartTime Must complete 900 hours within the service year which averages about 17 hours per week. Parttime members receive a yearly living allowance of $9350 which equates to about $389.56 (with less withholdings) paid out on the 15th and last day of each month. Members that fulfill their yearly hourly commitment receive an education award at the conclusion of their term of service. The 202324 education award is $3698. Flexible schedule is required. Primarily daytime hours with occasional evenings/weekends.
Retention Bonus
Wisconsin Association for Homeless and Runaway Services (WAHRS) is offering a $3000 retention bonus for fulltime members and a $1500 retention bonus for parttime members. Bonuses will be paid out three times per year at a rate of $1000 for fulltime members and $500 for halftime members. Bonuses are paid on December 1st March 1st and June 1st.
Health and Childcare Benefits
Health insurance is available for fulltime members provided they are not covered under another policy. Family members are not eligible for coverage. WAHRS will provide a policy that meets the requirements of the Affordable Care Act. Childcare benefits are also available for fulltime members who meet income requirements.
