About the position:
Reporting to the xxxx you will be responsible for performing final inspections on our products before shipment to ensure compliance with engineering drawings AS9100 standards FAA regulations and customer specifications. This role involves detailed visual and dimensional inspections documentation reviews and collaboration with quality and production teams to maintain DaytonGrangers commitment to superior product quality.
Snapshot of key accountabilities:
- Issue Authorized Release Certificates (ARC) such as 81303 tags.
- Review customer requirements and generate necessary shipping documents (e.g. CoC test reports inspection reports).
- Generate source inspection packages and review with 3rd Party Inspector
- Approve or reject parts based on engineering drawings GD&T requirements and customer specifications.
- Report discrepancies and nonconformances to management to ensure quality standards are met.
- Read and interpret technical documents such as engineering prints and service bulletins.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001/AS9100 FAA and MILSPEC standards in all inspections.
- Prepare inspection documentation for government contracts and review all necessary documentation packaging and labeling
- Use measurement tools (calipers micrometers gages) to verify dimensional accuracy of components.
- Perform First Article Inspections (FAI) and document results per AS9102 standards and submit to NetInspect
- Maintain accurate records of inspections and generate nonconformance reports (NCRs).
- Collaborate with manufacturing engineering and quality teams to resolve quality issues.
- Support internal and external audits for final inspection and compliance.
Skills/Experience/Knowledge required:
- 6 years of experience in a final inspection role preferably in aerospace or manufacturing.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings blueprints technical documentation and customer requirements.
- Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) principles preferred
- Knowledge of ISO9001 quality management system standards; AS9100 (latest revision) highly preferred
- Proficiency in using precision measurement tools (e.g. micrometers calipers optical comparators).
- Knowledge of First Article Inspection (FAI) and AS9102 reporting requirements preferred
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to work in a fastpaced environment and meet deadlines.
- Strong computer skills including but not limited to Adobe Writer Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
