JOB SUMMARY
Accountants perform monthend reporting general ledger maintenance and reconciliation financial analysis and forecasting and comparisons analysis of budgeted and actual spending physical inventory and product costing. Accountants are responsible for performing research in response management inquiries analyzing financial information as part of the financial reporting process and performing other general accounting and analytical duties.
Accountants are also involved in the daytoday commissions process for evaluating commission calculations for accuracy and viability to be paid.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Gather financial data and ledgers
Handle monthly quarterly and annual closings
Oversee external audits
Assist with responsibilities of monthend close processes including the preparation of consolidated financial statements and analysis of financial results for the various division
Assessing internal controls including risk assessments and reviews of risk areas
Monthly bank reconciliations
Maintaining and reconciling fixed assets schedules
Assist in the preparation of support for financial statement disclosures for external filings
Assist Accounting Manager Director of Accounting and/or Corporate Controller with adhoc projects as needed
Assist with all compliance related matters including quarterly reviews and yearend audit support.
Adheres to all safety precautions and follow all safety requirements to properly complete job tasks
Performs other jobrelated duties as assigned
MANAGEMENT AND SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
Typically reports to: Accounting Manager and/or the Director of Accounting
Job is not directly responsible for managing other employees (e.g. hiring/termination and/pay decisions performance management) but looking for someone to evolve into taking on a supervisor role and supervise 2 to 4 staff.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS/SKILL REQUIREMENTS
Candidates for senior accountant positions should possess solid communication technology organizational and analytical skills
Experience with accounting software and data entry. Experience with ECIs EAutomate ERP would be ideal.
Excellent understanding of accounting rules and procedures including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Advanced knowledge and experience with spreadsheets
Ability to work independently
Bachelor of Science in Accounting or equivalent from fouryear College or University program.
Big 4 experience ideal but not required.
35 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
A CPA is preferred but not required.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Regular business hours 40 hours weekly). Some additional hours may be required in order to meet special project deadlines and month end closing timelines.
Travel requirements: Domestic: Up to 0
Climate controlled office environment during normal business hours.
