Job Description

Introduction to role

Are you ready to make a significant impact in the world of biopharmaceuticals As the Associate Director Clinical Training and Development you will play a crucial role within the US Alexion RDU organization. Your mission will be to develop and ensure that all US training content aligns with the latest commercial strategies and clinical advancements. Reporting to the Head of Clinical Training and Development you will lead updates for US training content and create a rolespecific training platform for current and future indications.

Accountabilities/Responsibilities:

  • Developing and delivering clinical training curriculums in conjunction with the Therapeutic Area teams
  • Managing external training vendors in the creation of training content
  • Creating and executing rolespecific training for the US commercial organization
  • Creating and executing selling skills content training for the US field sales teams
  • Performing Clinical Excellence training for the US commercial leadership team
  • Updating newhire and advanced training resources for US field sales organization and internal commercial teams
  • Conducting newhire and ongoing training classes for fieldfacing commercial roles and other internal Alexion staff
  • Adding creative value to the training team based on career experiences in sales training & leadership
  • Working collaboratively with fieldbased trainers and management team to coordinate delivery of Alexions training program for new hires in field sales organization and internal commercial teams
  • Conducting field rides with members of field sales organization
  • Providing inthefield coaching to supplement the efforts of RSDs
  • Representing/navigating training initiatives as necessary through medical/legal/regulatory approval process
  • Working crossfunctionally with marketing medical affairs clinical Patient Services etc. to better understand market factors and develop new and revise subsequent training initiatives as needed
  • Measuring outcomes of training initiatives and creating plans for continuous improvement
  • Reporting any Pharmacovigilance Event eventually discussed during the trainings

Essential Skills/Experience:

  • B.A./B.S degree
  • 5 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry or equivalent
  • Ability to work effectively in the crossfunctional environment as well as independently on a consistent basis
  • Ability to develop strong professional relationships
  • The duties of this role are generally conducted in an office environment. As is typical of an officebased role employees must be able with or without an accommodation to: use a computer; engage in communications via phone video and electronic messaging; engage in problem solving and nonlinear thought analysis and dialogue; collaborate with others; maintain general availability during standard business hours.

Desirable Skills/Experience:

  • Business or scientific degree preferred
  • 3 years of sales experience in the biopharmaceutical industry
  • Proven track record for delivering strong consistent results during sales experience
  • Sales and product launching training experience in the biopharmaceutical industry preferred
  • Experience in specialty injectable/infusion markets including hospital selling experience with orphan drug experience
