Job Description

Overview

The Workplace Violence Program Manager is responsible for developing implementing and overseeing the systems comprehensive workplace violence prevention program aimed at preventing and addressing workplace violence within the organization. This role ensures a safe secure and supportive environment for colleagues patients and visitors by leading measures to reduce incidents of workplace violence through education policy development reporting mechanisms and other proactive strategies. Supports the Workplace Violence Steering Committee which is responsible for the overall direction coordination implementation control and completion of initiatives relating to workplace violence. Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelors degree required.
  • Education focus in healthcare administration criminal justice human resources/occupational health or related field

Licensure/Certification/Registry:

  • Workplace violence prevention instructor certification such as CPI AVADE etc. Preferred
  • Certification in healthcare security (Certified Healthcare Protection Administrator CHPA Certified Healthcare Safety Professional CHSP Workplace Violence Certificate) or related credentials Preferred

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years relevant experience with at least 3 years occurring in multilevel hospital system setting required.
  • Preferred background in project management risk management workplace safety and/or human resources/occupational health.
  • Experience with the following systems preferred: Microsoft and Tableau.

Responsibilities

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Develop implement and maintain a comprehensive workplace violence prevention program aligned with regulatory and accrediting requirements (e.g. OSHA Joint Commission) and best practices.

  1. Responsible for the daytoday management of the Workplace Violence Program continuously monitoring and adjusting as necessary based on incident data feedback and evolving standards.

  1. Serve as the primary point of contact for workplace violence threats and safety concerns liaising with various departments (e.g. Security HR Legal Risk Management) and external agencies as needed.

  1. Conduct organizational risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and recommend mitigation strategies.

  1. Develop and maintain the workplace violence governance structure for the system. Coordinate and support the governing Workplace Violence Steering Committee as well as the individual affiliate committees.

  1. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create review update and implement policies and procedures related to workplace violence prevention including reporting protocols response plans and postincident support.

  1. Provide support and guidance to leaders and colleagues on workplace violence issues conflict resolution and deescalation techniques.

  1. Coordinate ongoing workplace violence training and education to colleagues at all levels tailored to address the specific needs of different departments.

  1. Collect and analyze workplace violence incident data to identify trends and areas for improvement.

  1. Prepare and present regular reports to governance system/senior leadership and relevant committees including recommended actions progress toward program goals and annual evaluation of program effectiveness.

  1. Performs other related work as required or requested.
