Job Description
Specific responsibilities:
Support childcare teachers in creating a safe nurturing and structured environment.
Supervise and engage with children at all times including during free play rest time and outdoor activities.
Maintain confidentiality and communicate appropriately with staff while respecting family privacy.
Use a confident positive approach to guide behavior and address issues as needed.
Assist with individual and smallgroup activities implementing developmentally appropriate practices.
Help with classroom setup opening/closing duties and general housekeeping tasks.
Greet parents warmly foster relationships with children and families and assist with meals toileting and hygiene.
Respond to emergencies and notify the childcare teacher when necessary.
Participate in staff meetings and support additional tasks as directed by Lead Teachers or the Director.
Minimum qualifications:
Complete all required paperwork as mandated by the Department of Children and Families (DCF).
Undergo an FBI fingerprint background check.
Effectively communicate and convey information both orally and in writing ensuring clarity and comprehension for listeners.
Perform physical tasks involving fullbody movement including climbing lifting balancing walking and stoopingessential for the daily care of children.
Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to fulfill the responsibilities outlined in the job description.
