The National Insurance Producer Registry (NIPR) has an exciting opportunity for a Technical Support Liaison.
A Technical Support Liaison (TSL) serves as the final level of technical support prior to development staff. The main responsibility is to provide technical support implementation assistance monitoring and reporting for NIPR infrastructure applications and services.Application monitoring and alerting are handled through New Relic. The team monitors for and responds to any alerts received that may indicate an application or infrastructure issue. Monitoring is 24/7 for critical issues. TSL staff participate in a weekly oncall rotation.
This is a fulltime position which will allow the successful candidate to work remotely or hybrid in the NIPRs physical office space in Kansas City MO.
Responsibilities include:
Maintains confidentiality of private information including but not limited to: social security numbers drivers license numbers credit card information passwords and PINs (personal information numbers) and other private/confidential information if received during the course of NAIC/NIPR business. Protects and maintains the security of all confidential data to which this position has access. Immediately reports any misuse of this information to management.
Provides technical support monitoring and reporting for NIPR infrastructure applications and services. Reviews and researches application errors. Determines and takes appropriate action to correct and eliminate errors.
Utilizes NIPR tools to assist in problem research and resolution and if management approved data manipulation.
Researches technical problems referred from Customer Service and/or State Support staff.
Ensures tickets are worked within defined Service Level Agreements.
Determines whether customer notifications are and escalates to the appropriate NIPR or NAIC support area where necessary.
Develops and maintains an understanding of the business rules and systems requirements.
Troubleshoots applications and data for consistency and quality.
Documents and investigates issues and escalates advanced issues appropriately.
Regularly evaluates production applications for usability and performance.
Stays current with the latest technologies.
Participates in after hour rotations.
Works well in a team and shows willingness to receive direction from more experienced staff.
Regularly demonstrates initiative by identifying and preventing issues.
Minimum education and or experience :
Bachelors degree (B.A. in Computer Science or Associates Degree in Applied Science specific to Computer Science and one to two years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Skills and Abilities:
Negotiating and conflict resolution skills.
Interpersonal and customer service skills.
SQL skills
Microsoft Office products (Outlook Word Excel Power Point).

Compensation:
$66400 to $75 000 to be commensurate with education and experience.
