We are seeking a highly skilled Communication Support Worker (CSW) qualified in British Sign Language (BSL) to level 6 to join our dedicated team in Suffolk. Our mission is to provide exceptional educational and communication support to deaf learners ensuring they have equal access to information and learning opportunities.
Youll be supporting a small number of children who rely on BSL for communication. These children require highly skilled staff to facilitate their language development access and learning.
By joining our team you will play a crucial role in bridging the gap for children or young people in mainstream schools or in offering a flexible resource to specialist bases for d/Deaf children. Your expertise will help us meet the evolving needs of deaf learners in Suffolk ensuring they can thrive academically and socially. Youll be travelling to schools throughout Suffolk.

The team
Services for Deaf Children and Young People are part of the Sensory and Physical service within the Specialist Education Service (SES). We work closely with the other teams within the Sensory and Physical service as well as the wider teams within SES.
We have a large team of specialists who are highly committed to d/Deaf children and young people in Suffolk and their families. We embrace our work with our many schools and education settings from Early Years to Post 16 empowering them to work within their varied communities.
We are a friendly energetic and committed team. We are supportive of each other and thrive on the difference we can make to children and young people and their families in our county.
You will have access to continuing professional development offered within SES along with ongoing mentoring and support from colleagues within services for Deaf CYP and the resource base Teachers of the Deaf.
