About the team
The Globalization Platform team plays a pivotal role in ensuring that Stripe products are accessible and userfriendly for customers worldwide. This team is responsible for creating and maintaining the infrastructure required to localize our products and services across various languages and cultures. By joining this team you will contribute to providing a seamless experience for users across the globe and help expand Stripes global impact.
What youll do
As a Full Stack Engineer on the Globalization Platform team youll develop frontend solutions for internationalization including tooling and libraries directly impacting Stripes global expansion. Youll shape the teams frontend strategy collaborate across the organization and contribute to unlocking new markets. This role offers significant growth potential as you help drive Stripes mission on a global scale.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement frontend components for our globalization platform focusing on creating an intuitive user experience for localization workflows.
- Contribute to the maintenance and improvement of frontend libraries and components used across Stripe for globalization efforts.
- Assist in creating frontend integration strategies making it easier for other teams to incorporate localization features into their projects.
- Work with crossfunctional teams to implement globalization best practices in frontend development.
- Participate in bug fixes and performance improvements for existing frontend systems related to localization and internationalization.
- Help develop and maintain documentation for globalization tools and best practices.
- Contribute to code reviews and collaborate with team members to maintain high code quality standards.
- Stay informed about frontend technologies and internationalization trends suggesting improvements when appropriate.

Minimum requirements
- Have 5 years of backend engineering experience building services using programming languages such as Java Ruby or Go.
- Proven experience in developing infrastructure solutions.
- Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and integration with external vendors.
- Have a strong product sense and put strong emphasis on product quality. The big picture of what a great native experience is lies in Globalization Platforms hands so we need to maintain a high bar.
- Enjoy working with others and the ability to work well in a collaborative environment.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience in implementing solutions for localization in a global software environment.
- Proficiency in either Java or Ruby.
