Job Description
Mortgage Loan Officer
SUMMARY:First and foremost your responsibility is to be an advocate for the customer and an example of the UBank brand. MLO cultivate mortgage loans for the bank through relationship development with realtors builders title companies and others within the community.
The ideal candidate will have experience managing a mortgage loan portfolio a working knowledge of Secondary Market products and experience successfully leading a team to meet goals.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Originates mortgage loan applications
- Negotiate terms and rates of the loans
- Obtains customers information and provides advice related to product options
- Work with Operations to provide all required disclosures and notices to customers in compliance with all mortgage related regulations
- Secures interest rate lockins with investors
- Manages pipeline
- Ensures documents and activities are performed in compliance with applicable laws regulations policies and procedures as applicable to this position including completion of required compliance training.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals general business correspondence and/or journals or government regulations
- Ability to read analyze and interpret financial reports and/or legal documents
- Ability to write routine reports and business correspondence
- Ability to respond in writing to customer complaints regulatory agencies or members of the business community
- Ability to effectively present information in oneonone and small group situations to customers clients and other employees in the organization
- 4 years of mortgage lending and proven sales experience in retail banking
- Knowledge of real estate markets in local area
Preferred qualifications
- FHA/VA sales experience
- Secondary Market Mortgage Sales
- Marketing promotion relationship building and consulting skills
- Intermediate PC skills in a Windows environment
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- The employee is constantly 66100 required to sit type or write finger dexterity see detail and close vision see beyond arms length and speak clearly in order to communicate effectively.
- The employee is frequently 3366 required to bend stoop or squat lift up to 20 pounds and hear clearly in order to communicate effectively.
- The employee is occasionally 133 required to stand walk push or pull reach above shoulders lift up to 50 pounds and work in confined spaces.
- The employee is rarely (less than 1 required to climb stairs lie down climb ladders grasp or grip drive or operate equipment work outdoors exposed to fumes chemicals solvents etc. and exposed to extreme temperatures.
