Job Description

Overview

The ADRC Community Development Coordinator will assist the Director of the Alzheimers Disease and Dementia Research Center at Utah State University and the Program Coordinator in planning and helping with our summer events attending conferences and other community events where they will advertise our services and research registry interacting with the community to build connections and relationships and giving presentations to community partners. The position will perform a combination of programrelated and/or administrative functions that support ADRC programs. This position will require travel to and from events and organizations to facilitate and build community relationships throughout Northern Utah. This position will require regular on campus meetings in Logan UT.

Responsibilities

  • Becoming a volunteer of the Alzheimers Association (our community partner)
  • Promoting the centers community events
  • Coorganizing and attending community events
  • Assisting with recruitment of participants to the research registry and to specific ongoing research studies
  • Establishing new community partners in rural areas (via phone Zoom and email)
  • Assisting with social media and other public relations opportunities/materials
  • Writing personalized cards to individuals who have supported the center
  • Assisting with organizational/promotional tasks associated with the Dementia Caregiver Clinic

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ability to take initiative and work without close supervision.
  • Ability to meet regularly on Utah State University campus for inperson meetings.
  • Ability to travel throughout northern Utah.
  • Ability to plan and execute events related to the ADRC.
  • Ability to develop and present ADRCrelated materials to various stakeholders.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with researchers and service providers.
  • Ability to build community relationships.
  • Ability to make routine decisions.
  • Skilled with basic office equipment including printers copiers and telephone systems.
  • Ability to coordinate and organize meetings and/or special events.
  • Records maintenance skills.
  • Database entry skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to create compose and edit written materials.
  • Knowledge of University policies and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous work experience in a memory care setting.
  • PreHealth Major.
  • Previous work experience in a field related to aging or Alzheimers Disease and Dementia.
  • Previous work experience interacting with community members and stakeholders.
  • Has established contacts with memory care facilities in Cache Valley.

Advertised Salary
