Job description

The Omic Sciences Department carries out its activities using stateoftheart infrastructures at the Centre for Omic Sciences (COS) a unique center equipped with the latest metabolomics proteomics transcriptomics and genomics technologies. It offers a comprehensive range of biomarker research services across health food and environmental sectors from project design support to the analysis and integration of data obtained from various omics technologies.

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Specialist Proteomics researcher to join our cuttingedge Proteomics Platform. The successful candidate will work closely with researchers and industry partners to advance proteomics methodologies particularly in ultrasensitive quantitative proteomics posttranslational modifications (PTMs) and integrative multiomics approaches.

RESPONSABILITIES

As a valued member of our team your role encompasses several critical dimensions:

Develop and optimize new nanoLCMS/MS methods for proteomics analysis.
Perform sample preparation protein digestion mass spectrometry acquisition and data analysis for proteomics research.
Maintain and troubleshoot highend mass spectrometry instrumentation ensuring highquality results.
Implement quality control (QC) and validation protocols for proteomics workflows.
Develop strategies for protein identification annotation and quantification using advanced data processing tools (e.g. Proteome Discoverer MaxQuant).
Actively participate in scientific publications documentation and standardization of protocols.
Support research projects and collaborate with national and international partners.
Assist in lab organization supply management and maintenance of proteomics databases.

Requirements

Qualifications:

PhD Masters or Bachelors degree in Analytical Chemistry Biochemistry Biomedical Engineering or a related field.

Knowledge and Experience:

Extensive experience in mass spectrometry and chromatography (LCMS/MS HRMS) applied to proteomics.
Strong background in proteomics workflows including bottomup and topdown proteomics DIA and labelfree quantification.
Proficiency in software for MS data processing (e.g. MaxQuant Proteome Discoverer Skyline).
Experience in data preprocessing.
Experience in mass spectrometry instrument maintenance and troubleshooting.
High motivation for research and scientific documentation/publication.
Excellent organizational skills teamwork ability and problemsolving skills.
Fluency in English (B1 or higher) and proficiency in Spanish and Catalan.

Additional Valued Skills:

Experience in protein sample preparation from biofluids or tissues.
Experience in advanced techniques such as glycoproteomics and PTMs analysis
Familiarity with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality management systems.
Knowledge of machine learning applications in proteomics and statistical analysis (univariate/multivariate) and bioinformatics tools
