Position Summary

We are in search of a Social Worker for the Memory and Aging Project (MAP) with the Knight Alzheimer Disease Research Center (ADRC) to provide social work services for our research participants and their families; will also be responsible for screening and enrolling new MAP participants.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provides resources and education to MAP participants and their families/caregivers about dementia and dementia care.
  • Routinely recruits and enrolls MAP research participants; confers with PI to assist in making determinations of eligibility; reviews and explains purpose of study and all study components to obtain informed consent.
  • Uses critical thinking to address participant/family concerns and provide support counseling and/or community resources for navigating dementia.
  • Prepares oral or written presentations or reports on enrollment progress.
  • Provides psychotherapy services for patients and their families.
  • Conducts family therapy with participants in research study including documentation.
  • Prepares psychosocial reports and maintains necessary records.
  • Schedules patient appointments and provides telephone followup.
  • Facilitates referrals and community resources for patients/families.
  • Verifies insurance coverage for patients.
  • Answers inquiries from patients/families about community resources.
  • Performs other duties incidental to the work described herein.

Required Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Social Work.
  • Currently a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Missouri and/or Illinois depending on location.
  • Basic Life Support certification (Online BLS certifications those without a skills assessment component are not sufficient to meet the BLS requirements).

Salary Range

$56200.00 $87100.00 / Annually

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including ones qualifications and performance equity with others in the department market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
