The Columbus office of BakerHostetler has a unique and exciting opportunity to support the Managing Partner. This role is fastpaced and requires attention to detail legal support experience and a dynamic personality. The Executive Legal Secretary must be strategic driven highly organized independent proactive and possess excellent time management skills. The position requires the ability to think creatively and exercise a high degree of independent judgment when necessary.
Responsibilities:
- Calendar management proactively manage calendars by scheduling meetings appointments and conference calls with internal and external clients
- Legal support provide support to a group of attorneys within the business group
- Travel arrangements booking travel and accommodations and managing itineraries and expense reports
- Correspondence management handling incoming emails calls and mail prioritizing and responding appropriately
- Meeting coordination preparing meeting agendas distributing materials taking minutes and assisting with coordination on assigned project management related action items
- Ticket administration coordinating tickets and related accommodations to various events on behalf of the Managing Partner
- Confidentiality handling sensitive information with the utmost discretion
- Other duties as may be assigned.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED); and a minimum of 5 years of related executive level experience or equivalent.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word Outlook Teams Excel and PowerPoint. Proven aptitude to learn new software applications and integration of advanced technology to deliver quality results.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff members clients attorneys and external constituents.
- Strong attention to detail. Ability to type/enter data and strong proofreading skills. Ability to write correspondence and routine messages.
- Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions draft correspondence and memos.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating instructions procedure manuals general business periodicals professional journals technical procedures governmental regulations financial reports or legal documents.
