Job Description

The R&D Discovery and Technology Futures group is looking for a creative and energetic Scientist in Genomicsto be at the forefront of innovating the next generation of IDEXX products. The successful candidate will be highly motivated inquisitive and excel in a highly collaborative and multidisciplinary environment. In this role you will specialize in developing molecular assays (PCR based); performing data analyses and analytical will join a group of highly talented technically focused individuals working together to identify solutions to complex challenges. This will require you to exercise your analytical and creative thoughtprocess sound judgement strong communications skills and curiosity.

What you can expect:

  • Isolate nucleic acids from diverse and challenging sample types

  • Design perform validate and optimize assays and experiments. Prepare materials gather data carry out analysis and reach conclusions.

  • Author technical reports detailing procedures and results.

  • Effectively present data and concepts to various audiences.

  • Learn and effectively implement novel experimental protocols and/or techniques.

What you need to succeed:

  • Bachelors with 6 years of experience or Masters degree with 4 years of experience in life sciences biochemistry molecular biology or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Industry experience preferred.

  • Experience with various molecular assay formats and analysis (e.g. PCR qPCR dPCR)

  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.

  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written.

  • Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team.

  • Organizational skills and ability to plan work is a must.

  • Takes initiative and is accountable (shows ownership); focuses on task at hand; detail oriented.
