Job Description

The role

We have a new opportunity for an experienced Solicitor or Associate to join our Brisbane team. You will be part of a great team and will be responsible for overseeing a range of defendant insurance files with reputable clients. In this role you will receive ongoing mentoring and development from your Partners as well as support from the wider team.

The core responsibilities of this role include:

  • Managing a diverse range of defendant insurance matters with a focus on professional indemnity life insurance claims and public and product liability claims.
  • Overseeing a range of commercial litigation matters.
  • Advising and communicating directly with clients.
  • Preparing court documents including pleadings briefs and motions
  • Negotiating settlements attending conferences mediations court and managing court processes.
  • Providing guidance and mentorship to junior lawyers and support staff.

Who are we seeking

Ideally the successful candidate will possess the following:

  • 35 years postadmission experience.
  • You will possess either insurance and/or a commercial litigation background.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills with clients and other practitioners.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A keen eye for detail and excellent timemanagement skills.
