General Description:

A professional who is responsible for weekly and ongoing supervision of a team of no more than six fulltime direct service Healthy Families Highlands staff. The supervisor protects the integrity of the program and demonstrates respect for the parallel process by supporting guiding and building on the strengths of staff so that they may best support guide and build on the strengths of the families served.

Essential Job Functions:

Duties of the supervisor include scheduling and conducting weekly supervision sessions for each staff member documenting supervision sessions maintaining supervision files for each staff member planning and coordinating training providing skill development monitoring quality of staff documentation.
Supervisors helps staff maintain perspective evaluate their own performance increase personal and professional development learn and practice new strategies to effectively work with families and develop reflective capacity and ultimately enhance the quality of services families receive. Additionally supervision promotes both staff and site accountability and reduces staff burnout and turnover by providing support. Supervisors allocate a time for each staff person to receive the frequency and duration of supervision required based upon the HFA Standards and monitors it closely.

The Supervisor also assists in the selection of staff participates in the orientation and training conducts record reviews assists in or maintains the data collection system implements a quality assurance plan and monitors the performance of assigned staff. The Supervisor may also act as a liaison with other agencies conducts team meetings and plan groups and provides daily support and crisis management.

The following describes additional job functions but should not be considered an allinclusive list of requirements.
Provide guidance to direct service staff with strategies to support families in developing realistic and effective support /goal plans.
Assist in data collection and quality improvement planning including monitoring performance of staff and review of participant records for outcome evaluation.
Timely completion of monthly and quarterly reports.
Timely completion of employee performance reviews other evaluations and reports as required
Attends regular staff meetings inservice training and other meetings as required.
Maintain confidentiality of participant information and respect diverse cultural differences of families within communities.
Completes required case reviews as required and facilitates administrative clinical and reflective supervision with assigned staff.
Monitoring performance measures outcomes and holds team accountable for timely and accurate tool administration and documentation.
Complete initial trainings required by Healthy Families Florida; complete a minimum of 20 hours per year of training thereafter.
Follows County Healthy Families Highlands and Healthy Families Florida policies and procedures.
Complies with agency state and legal mandates for reporting suspected abuse maltreatment neglect or person at risk of homicide or suicide to appropriate authorities and completes all necessary paperwork.
Maintains a professional and safe unit and work area adhering to established safety policies and the image desired for the organization.
Responds productively to change and performs all other related tasks as directed.
Performs other duties as assigned

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

Must have the following skills experiences and abilities: a solid understanding and experience in supervising diverse staff with humility as well as providing support to staff in stressful work environments knowledge of infant and child development and parentchild attachment experience with family services that embrace the concepts of familycentered and strengthbased service provision knowledge of parentinfant health and dynamics of child abuse and neglect experience supporting culturally diverse communities/families experience in home visitation with a strong background in early childhood prevention services. Willingness to engage in building reflective practice (e.g. capacity for introspection communicating awareness of self in relation to others recognizing value of supervision etc..

Physical Skills:

Must be able to remain in a stationary position for 50 of the time. Must be able to inspect and assess daily email and postal mail correspondence. Frequently operates various types of office equipment to include but not limited to a computer and copy machine. Occasionally ascends/descends stairs. The individual in this position frequently communicates with the public vendors and coworkers. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. Rarely moves material and office equipment weighing up to 25lbs. Constantly works in an indoor environment. Rarely works in inclement outdoor weather conditions. Rarely operates motor vehicle for up to 4 hours continuously or intermittently. Must be able to frequently position self to reach files and other office items located on low shelfs or the floor. May be exposed to safety hazards contaminants and participants with infectious diseases.

Education & Experience:

Must have a masters degree in the human services field or a field related to working with children and families or a bachelors degree and three years of relevant experience or less than a bachelors degree with four years of commensurate HFA experience. The supervisor to staff ratio does not exceed a 1:6 ratio.

Licenses Certifications or Registrations:

Must possess and maintain a valid Florida driver license. Must have the ability to provide transportation for self on a daily basis to complete home visits with participants. Must provide proof of valid insurance with the minimum coverage required by Florida law.

Other jobrelated requirements:

Disaster Essential. Applicant must also sign the Healthy Families Florida Standard of Confidentiality and Information Sharing Form the Affidavit of Understanding the Department of Children and Families (DCF) Security Agreement and the Affidavit of Good Moral Character Form.
