This posting will create a nonprobationary internal Teamster eligibility list and fill 1 vacancy for this classification. The current vacancy is in the Land Development and Community Services department. The eligibility list will be utilized to fill vacancies for this classification for up to one hundred eighty 180 days. Nonprobationary Teamster team members successfully completing the selection process will be placed on the eligibility list.

ESSENTIAL INFORMATION

- Pay Considerations The starting salary pay for the position is $73181.43. Starting salary is dependent on education qualifications and experience. The selected candidate for this position will start at the beginning of the salary range no exceptions. Existing employees will receive increases as outlined by their bargaining agreement.
- Work Schedule This position is scheduled to work 4 days per week 9 hours per day Monday through Thursday 8:00am to 6:00pm.
THE ROLE
Performs structural plan and specification review for complex construction improvement and repair plans for compliance submitted by private builders engineers and architects for conformance to building codes.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
- Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university with a major in civil structural architectural engineering or a field related to the work; and
- Three years of experience in a combination of residential commercial and industrial plan checking; or three years experience in Structural Engineering Design; or three years experience in Architectural Design with emphasis on building codes and regulations.
- Equivalency: Seven years of experience in a combination of residential commercial and industrial plan checking; or three years experience in Structural Engineering Design; or three years experience in Architectural Design with emphasis on building codes and regulations may be substituted for the required education listed above.
Licenses and Certifications
- International Code Council (ICC) Plans Examiner certificate required within one year of hire or promotion.
- Possession of a Nevada Professional Engineers License preferred. If licensed in another state prefer License in the State of Nevada be obtained within one year of hire or promotion.
- Must possess a valid state drivers license and maintain satisfactory motor vehicle record with the ability to obtain appropriate Nevada state drivers license within required time frame.
SELECTION PROCESS

- The selection process will begin with a screening of the application/resume The best qualified candidates will be invited to participate in the assessment process.
- Oral Board Interview (Weighted 100 Passing Score 70.
- PreEmployment Screening Selected candidates for this position are subject to a preemployment screening which includes but is not limited to local & state criminal history check; federal criminal history checks via submission of fingerprints; and drug screening. **IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Background check processing may take 2 to 3 months to complete.
- Selection/Offers
Note: Subsequent vacancies during the life of the internal eligibility list may require participation in an additional selection interview. The selection interview will be weighted 100 requiring a passing score of 70 in order to be considered for the subsequent position vacancy.
