Job Description

F15 Radar Chief Engineer

The Boeing Company is currently seeking an experienced highly skilled professional to serve as the Senior F15 Radar Chief Engineer (Level 6 on the Boeing Air Dominance Sensors & Special Program Team located in Berkeley MO.

As a member of the team you will provide technical leadership and drive technical excellence across multiple domestic and international F15 Radar development programs. You will be a primary technical interface to the F15 Radar Supplier and Customers. Additionally you can expect to drive consistent implementation and improvement of processes.


Position Responsibilities:

  • Drives technical excellence throughout all F15 Radar developments.
  • Provides technical leadership and ensures common practices across programs.
  • Serves as the primary technical interface with the Radar Supplier.
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches products and processes. Works closely with program managers program chief engineers and other Boeing Teams to ensure mission success and prompt resolution of anomalies.
  • Chairs and participates in Radar Configuration Control Boards (CCB) Design Reviews Root Cause/Corrective Actions (RCCA) etc.
  • Provides mentoring and coaching to F15 Radar Capability Engineers.
  • Performs Technical Lead Engineer (TLE) functions for assigned mentees.
  • Assigns tasking and priorities to F15 Radar Capability Engineers
  • Drives common practices to meet programs cost schedule quality and technical objectives.
  • Develop and maintain roadmaps throughout all F15 Radar developments.
  • Captures lessons learned and best practices for implementation on future programs.
  • Researches and identifies potential capability hardware and architectures with providing recommendation for investment
  • Resolves complex problems impacting multiple programs and platforms
  • Coordinates with Boeing Executive Leadership and Customer Leadership on Technical Issues and Strategy

This position is expected to be 100 onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship as a condition of employment.

  • An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance PostStart is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology) chemistry physics mathematics data science or computer science.
  • 20 years of workrelated experience with a Bachelors degree OR 18 years of workrelated experience with a Masters degree OR 15 years of workrelated experience with a PhD
  • Experience in technical leadership
  • Experience in Radar systems analysis modeling simulation design and testing involving airborne or SAR applications
  • Able to travel 10 of the time

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Master degree in Engineering
  • Experience in an avionics electrical and/or a mission systems role
  • Experience working on F15 development programs
  • Experience working in a lead role responsible for planning organizing and leading personnel to solve complex technical problems
  • Experience developing solutions to a wide range of complex technical problems requiring ingenuity and innovation
  • Experience in preparing and evaluating proposals

Typical Education/Experience:

Level 6: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering computer science mathematics physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 20 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD15 years related work experience Master18 years related work experience). In the USA ABET accreditation is the preferred although not required accreditation standard.

Security Clearance:

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim U.S. Secret Clearance PreStart and final U.S. Secret Clearance PostStart is required.
