Job Description
TheVCUSchool of Nursing is recruiting a pool of applicants foradjunct teaching positions. This limited adjunct appointment will be offered ona semesterbysemester basis and is subject to renewal. The purpose of the positionis for qualified individuals to teach in undergraduate areas in their area ofexpertise include evidencebased strategies in teaching and clinicalactivities and contribute to evaluation and ongoing program developmentthrough timely feedback and adherence to evaluation mechanisms for theprogram.
This pool will be accessed only as adjunct vacancies arise. Yourapplication will remain active for one year from this position posting one year if you are still interested in adjunct teaching you mustreapply to the posting. Note that we are unable to hire applicants who are notin the pool.
Masters degree in nursing
Unencumbered license in Virginia as a Registered Nurse or eligible to practice in Virginia by an unencumbered Compact State license
Experience in a practice role(at least 2 years of direct patient care.
Evidence of effectiveness in collaboration and communication
Demonstrated experience working in and fostering an environment of respect professionalism and civility with a population of faculty staff and students from various backgrounds and experiences or a commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in teaching at the baccalaureate or higher level
Experience with simulation instruction
Doctoral Degree in nursing or related field
Certification in an area of specialty in nursing
