Job Description

The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for the overall cleanliness and maintenance of the hotels guest rooms and public areas. They lead a team of housekeepers overseeing daily operations to guarantee a comfortable and pleasant environment for guests. The Housekeeping Supervisor must be able to oversee staff effectively resolve problems quickly and efficiently and provide excellent customer service ensuring a pristine environment that exceeds guest expectations. Housekeeping supervisor will be required to clean rooms as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Directly oversee the work of housekeeping staff including room attendants cleaners and janitors.
  • Create work schedules and assign specific cleaning duties to staff members ensuring efficient coverage and completion of tasks.
  • Train new housekeeping employees on cleaning procedures safety protocols and hotel standards. Provide ongoing coaching and support to ensure highquality performance.
  • Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms public areas and backofhouse spaces to ensure cleanliness tidiness and compliance with hotel standards.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels of cleaning supplies linens and amenities. Coordinate orders and replenishments as needed to support daily operations.
  • Address guest inquiries requests and complaints related to housekeeping promptly and professionally. Take appropriate actions to resolve issues and ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain accurate records of room status cleaning activities and maintenance requests. Prepare reports on departmental performance and operational metrics as required.
  • Develop and implement new housekeeping procedures and policies
  • Stay up to date on industry trends and best practices

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a housekeeping supervisory role preferred
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to resolve problems quickly and efficiently
  • Knowledge of hotel housekeeping operations and procedures
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
