Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION

SUMMARY:

Opportunity for a Sr. Manufacturing Weld Engineer to join Adients automotive metal plant in Clanton AL. The Sr. Manufacturing Weld Engineer will lead our technical team to optimize automated welding processes across three distinct technologies at our dynamic automotive metals plant in Clanton AL.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise and support the technical team for laser welding (automated) GMAW (automated robotic and manual repair) and projection welding (automated).
  • Monitor processes record data adjust fixtures and modify weld programs to meet product standards.
  • Collaborate with engineering support and maintenance to diagnose and repair equipment issues promptly.
  • Respond to findings from lab results and quality audits and delegate project and development tasks as needed.
  • Adhere to Health Safety and Environmental standards by reporting injuries accidents and hazardous conditions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 710 years of experience with automated welding processes in a highvolume automotive manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in establishing and modifying weld schedules/parameters and hand welding skills.
  • Training in weld robot troubleshooting and programming (e.g. Fancu MotoMan etc..
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for equipment breakdowns weld fixture adjustments and weld programming.
  • Proficiency with simple hand tools and a basic understanding of 2D dimensional product prints.
  • Solid electrical background (up to 480V 3 with experience in motors motor starters and drives; working knowledge of NEC codes.
  • Microsoft Office

EDUCATION:

  • BS Welding Engineering or Welding Engineering Technical Degree. Equivalent definitive experience with automated welding processes will also be considered.
