Position Summary


The V.P. of Administrative Operations supports the work of Woodlands Specialty Hospital Chief Hospital Administrator focusing on the corporate projects and legal aspects of the organization. The V.P. of Administrative Operations serves as an integral member of the senior management team. The V.P. of Operations provides leadership management and vision necessary to ensure that the organization has the proper controls administrative and reporting procedures in place to effectively grow the organization and ensure financial strength and operating efficiency.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Strategic planning and resource allocation.
  • Design and implement business strategies plans and procedures.
  • Set comprehensive goals for performance and growth.
  • Establish policies that promote company culture and vision.
  • Oversee all corporate projects of the organization and ensure timelines and budgets are within the scope of work.
  • Evaluate all corporate project performance by analyzing and interpreting data and metrics.
  • Write and submit reports to the CHA in all matters of importance prior to submitting to Board of Directors or staff.
  • Participate in expansion activities (investments acquisitions corporate alliances etc.
  • Advise the management team on key planning issues and make recommendations on important business decisions.
  • Participate in the operational processes/ process improvement.
  • Ensure quality control of all company output as pertains to customer acquisition and delivery of services
  • Set operational goals for projects which are aggressive achievable and tied to longterm goals.
  • Participate in monitoring performance reporting systems.
  • Monitor project performance to ensure that progress is being made.
  • Ensure activities comply with organizational requirements for quality management legal stipulations and general duty of care.
  • Participate in highpriority crises as required.
  • Maintain continuous lines of communication keeping the CHA informed of all critical issues.
  • Assist in the protection of the organization by ensuring it is legally protected and by ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and policies.
  • Ability to develop layout and follow through on detailed business plans and programs.

procedures pertaining to safety emergency preparedness infection control OSHA fire safety and hazardous materials

  • Maintain confidentiality of patient related issues and adhering to all HIPAA rules and regulations.

  • Treat all patients visitors and staff members fairly and with respect

  • Explain all procedures treatments and care while remaining aware of language barriers
  • Able to perform care in nonjudgmental manner and recognize discrepancies between patient and personal beliefs

  • Responsible for wearing identification badge at all times which must be visible and above the waistline
  • Attend all required meetings and inservice education
  • Remain flexible in staffing patterns and resolution of staffing conflicts; participates in temporary assignments

  • Demonstrate flexibility when changes in assignments are necessary

Qualifications

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor Degree from an accredited university or college. MBA preferred
  • Minimum of five years experience as a Chief Operating Officer or as a senior level executive of an acutecare setting.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with customers both in person and over the telephone

LANGUAGE/MATH/REASONING ABILITY

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral or diagram form.

COMPUTER SKILLS

  • To perform this job successfully an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software and Internet software.
