Heres how a Proposal Manager for our California Buildings districtlocated in Southern California will contributes to our team:
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the development and management of the California proposal team and formal proposal process including pursuit prequalifications proposals presentations schedules deadlines and compliance along with process improvement and longterm planning.
- Responsible for the development of the strategic vision and strategy sessions to ensure that a clear win strategy is in place and PCLs response is composed in a clear compelling and compliant manner.
- Defines overall proposal strategy and vision to ensure it is applied to the proposal in a manner that is compliant with the client requirements and consistent with corporate objectives/policies/goals.
- Leads proposal process improvements (adoption of technologies lean methods innovations operating procedures etc. win strategy development and other specialized aspects of proposal development.
- Has overall accountability to ensure proposal team deliverables are met; this may include troubleshooting and mobilizing resources to respond to deficiencies in the process.
- Trains supervises mentors and coaches department staff to maximize performance to continually achieve improved service and results.
- Leads or coleads the preparation of interview strategy and presentation deliverables.
- Manages the timely development of a clear compelling customized proposal that supports the win strategy. Creates customized content and edits as required.
- Supports the proposal team to ensure that plan and strategy are effectively communicated and executed.
- Participates and seeks involvement (leadership positions) in outside professional organizations that support the position.
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelors degree in marketing communications journalism or equivalent preferred.
- Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP) professional certification Certified Professional Services Marketer (CPSM) certification or equivalent is preferred.
- 5 years experience as a proposal coordinator or in a related role (communications marketing visual communications).
- 3 years experience in a supervisory role is preferred.
- Superior project management organizational and time management skills to effectively establish the priority and scheduling of work tasks.
- Creative and strategic thinker with superior attention to detail good judgement and ability to solve complex problems.
- Superior verbal written and visual communication skills. Ability to strategically customize technical written content with a customer focus.
- Superior knowledge of proposal fundamentals and best practices.
- Ability to strategically collaborate on and facilitate a team to a positive result.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills with an ability to manage and collaborate with a diverse group sensitively tactfully and diplomatically.
- Superior relationship management skills with the ability to establish and maintain and influence effective relationships with key stakeholders and decision makers.
- Exceptional proofreading skills.
- Advanced business acumen with an understanding of industry practices and new developments (construction process delivery models contract types).
- Understands construction terminology and readily grasps concepts and technical processes.
