Position Summary

The Bartender is responsible for the service of all beverages both alcoholic and nonalcoholic. They must be personable professional and able to work in an everchanging fastpaced environment. The employee must maintain excellent attendance and be available to work events as scheduled per business need.

This role pays an hourly rate of $19.50 and is tip eligible.

About the Venue

The Federal Way Performing Arts and Event Center is a multipurpose venue designed to host theater music dance art and spokenword performances. Adjoining event spaces can host more than 300 for gala seating or be transformed into settings ideal for conferences seminars meetings and weddings. Majestic mountain views are abundant from the PAECs perch above the city an enchanting backdrop for striking event photographs. The centers premier location in South King County just 20 minutes south of SeaTac Airport is ideal for business educational social charitable and private events.

Responsibilities

  • Must demonstrate ability to meet the company standard for excellence in the areas of guest service interaction with coworkers and uniform standards.
  • Follow the bar preshift notes and bar menus and provide service as described.
  • Serve alcoholic beverages following all proper procedures for serving alcoholic drinks including state/federal regulations pertaining to the distribution of alcohol (MAST 12 Mandatory Alcohol Server Training required or ability to obtain within 2 weeks of hire).
  • Responsible to learn or have knowledge of various beer wine varieties & spirits available and be able to learn to suggestively upsell products to guests.
  • Must pour drinks responsibly in accordance with company standards for serving size.
  • Must check guests ID in accordance with state/federal regulations to verify minimum age requirement for the purchase of alcoholic beverages.
  • Must communicate a cutoff to a guest as required.
  • Listen and respond to any customer requests or concerns.
  • Bartenders are expected to deescalate intoxicated guest situations and if a guest becomes confrontational belligerent or uses extreme profanity the bartender may contact management or security as required.
  • Contact a management member if unable to resolve or make a decision beyond the scope of standard decisionmaking.
  • Request additional product or restock product as required.
  • Ability to handle cash accurately is required. Employees are responsible for issued bank at their bar.
  • Maintains clean and sanitary work station at all times. Ensures bar equipment is clean & well maintained.
  • Ability to prepare and serve food items as needed using proper sanitary techniques (Food Handlers Card required or ability to obtain within 2 weeks of hire).
  • Other duties as assigned such as setup and breakdown of bar equipment as required and assisting with organization of the cooler.

Qualifications

  • Six months or more experience bartending.
  • Accurate cash handling skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a fastpaced environment.
  • Ability to be selfdirected while working in a teamoriented environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights weekends and long hours.
  • Bartending school preferred.
