Job Summary:
AZ Compass K12 School is seeking an enthusiastic and innovative Design and Innovation Teacher to lead a new STEAMfocused course for students in grades K12. This class will combine principles of science technology engineering arts and mathematics (STEAM) with the design thinking process to equip students with realworld problemsolving skills. The teacher will inspire students through creative handson projects that foster critical thinking collaboration and innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and deliver a STEAMintegrated Design and Innovation curriculum using the design thinking process (Empathize Define Ideate Prototype Test).
Design and facilitate engaging handson projects that encourage students to explore science technology engineering arts and math through realworld challenges.
Support schoolwide STEAM initiatives including activities such as robotics coding and maker projects.
Guide students in developing and testing innovative solutions promoting iteration based on feedback.
Encourage creativity critical thinking and collaboration among students.
Integrate digital tools and technologies to enhance design innovation and prototyping.
Provide clear assessment criteria monitor student progress and share feedback with students and families.
Collaborate with staff to connect STEAM concepts to core subjects and support crosscurricular integration.
Coordinate guest speakers field trips and community partnerships related to STEAM careers.
Participate in school meetings professional development and campus events.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Education Engineering Design Technology or a STEAMrelated field. Masters degree preferred.
Valid teaching certification or eligibility to obtain certification.
Experience with the design thinking process projectbased learning and STEAM education.
Strong classroom management communication and planning skills.
Ability to differentiate instruction across K12 grade levels.
Passion for empowering students to become creative problemsolvers.
Familiarity with robotics coding 3D printing or maker space tools is a plus.
