About the Role
Redhorse is seeking a highly skilled MidLevel Full Stack Software Engineer to contribute to the Department of Defenses (DoD) Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office (CDAO). You will play a vital role in enhancing datadriven decisionmaking by developing and maintaining software solutions within the Advana platform directly impacting the development and deployment of critical AI/ML capabilities for flagship applications like GAMECHANGER Contract Search and JBook Search. This is a highimpact role offering significant opportunities for professional growth and collaboration with leading experts in AI and data science.
Key Responsibilities
Designs and develops software requirements for multiple Artificial Intelligencebased support capabilities including software architectures APIs frameworks and libraries.
Develops the frontend and backend of software prototypes components and tooling to accelerate the prototyping process.
Maintains and guides the development of common libraries and tools used by multiple teams.
Maintains the existing code base of inproduction applications performing bug fixes code and component library updates to meet security and performance needs and capability enhancements as planned in the sprint schedule.
Works closely with clients and requirements owners to build out product lines.
Develops plans roadmaps and software design strategies. Analyzes and decomposes activities and requirements into software designs allocated across systems components/subcomponents.
Aids in formulating a strategy for achieving rapid prototyping of AI capabilities including Generative AI.
Works with data scientists UX designers cognitive scientists developers and testers to create cohesive and sound software designs forming the basis of scalable AI solutions.
Documents requirements and specifications and reviews documentation provided by other teams and vendors.
Optimizes software designs and architectures to deliver desired performance targets and devises tooling and methodologies to profile and capture performance metrics.
Stays informed on the latest AI system and software architectures and trends from design patterns to DevSecOps and systems architecture patterns.
Captures develops and reports reference architectures and documenting compliance standards.
Implements CI/CD pipelines and optimizes software for scalability performance and security.
Collaborates with crossfunctional teams including data scientists and UX designers.
Required Experience/Clearance
Bachelors degree plus 57 years of experience or a Masters degree plus 3 years of experience.
Programming experience with Python JavaScript and at least one more programming language (Java preferred).
Experience with frontend frameworks like React or Vue.
Experience with Agile software development methodologies and tools.
DevSecOps experience including the use of Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) tooling (Git runners code scanning tools).
Experience with containerization and the use of Kubernetes.
Familiarity with ObjectRelational Mapping persistence frameworks (e.g. SQLAlchemy) and with PostgreSQL.
Familiarity with the use of ElasticSearch/OpenSearch and Neo4J as persistent stores
Wellversed in modern software architectures like microservices as well as frontend frameworks.
Strong communication skills.
Ability to synthesize requirements underlying feature requests recommend alternative technical and business approaches and facilitate engineering efforts to meet aggressive timelines.
DoD 8140 IAT Level III (preferred).
Active Top Secret (TS) security clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) eligibility.
