This role would work with Member Stations on story ideas content and sharing methodology. The person would extend the shared services model established through the Collaborative Journalism Network so that a journalist with specific expertise provides editing field support production training and added capacity to stations. This could include partnering with other organizations involved in these efforts as well. They will develop conceive and execute original visual content from pitch through publication with a sophisticated understanding of how to tailor visual narratives and storytelling for young and diverse audiences. This position will also develop a newsletter featuring visual work in public media.
This position may require working nights weekends and holidays as needed. This position reports to the Director of NPR Visuals. This is a limited term position ends on 9/30/26
This is a unionrepresented role covered under the terms of a collective bargaining agreement with SAGAFTRA.
This is an NPR editorial role covered under the terms of the NPR Ethics Handbook. All editorial staff are bound by this guidance. Editorial staff are defined as staff members who play a role in shaping the journalistic or creative direction of NPRs content including events.

Salary Range: The U.S. based anticipated salary range for this opportunity is $130000 plus benefits. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum salaries NPR expects to provide for new hires for the position across all US locations.

Regular fulltime employees scheduled to work 30 hours or more per week are eligible to enroll in NPRs benefits options.
