General Description:
- Advises patients and/or family members of their financial obligations.
- Obtains payments or secures adequate payment arrangements with earlyout vendor. Setsup payroll deductions for employees.
- Monitors the qualification process for Medicaid SSI SSD FINA and selfpay discounts to ensure selfpay patient who qualify and participate are eligible.
- Assists patients with estimates for hospital services.
- Works directly with Case Managers and Eligibility and Collections vendors for patients insurance verifications.
- Responsible for all aspects of Lien removals.
- Responsible for processing patient refunds and credit balance transfers.
- Keeps current on all state and governmental regulations i.e. HIPAA/PHI standards.
- Attends department staff meetings and inservices to maintain current knowledge.
- Responsible for training new employees and instructing current employees of process changes.
- Performs similar or related duties as assigned.
- Knows fire disaster and safety procedures and regulations as it pertains to the work area
Formal Education:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 1 to <2 years
