Job Description
HEAVY EQUIPMENT LUBE MECHANIC
M.T. Laney Co. Inc. is an established and successful construction firm in Eldersburg MD. We seek an experienced committed careerminded Heavy Equipment Lube Mechanic to join our growing team.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Always ensures a safe work environment for self and others
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Effectively fuel lubricate and service all levels of mobile light and heavy equipment
- Ability to operate inspect troubleshoot diagnostics/defects/malfunctions and determine required repairs on heavy equipment
- Conducts preventive maintenance to avoid unnecessary repairs and downtime on all types of equipment
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Follow all safety policies and use proper PPE
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Basic math reading and writing skills are required (English)
- Must be safetyoriented and exhibit safe work habits
- Heavy equipment and/or onhighway truck maintenancePM experience or related field preferred
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be a minimum of 21 years old
- Must have a CDL Class A/B Valid Drivers license with a good driving record
- Must be able to pass a preemployment drug screen and background check
- An emphasis on safety on and off the road
- Punctual and reliable; good attendance required
- Strong communication and organization skills
- Knowledge of DOT standards and requirements
- Ability to work in a fastpaced environment
- Understand and follow directions from supervisors
- Ability to work outside in all types of weather
- Must own a good working set of mechanics tools
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions or shop
- Lift and move up to 75 pounds
- Stand for prolonged amounts of time
- Walk bend kneel and twist
- Willing to work overtime as needed
- Able to work from elevated platforms
- FullTime NonExempt Position
- Salary based on knowledge experience and education
EDUCATION:
- A high school diploma or GED is preferred
EXPERIENCE:
- 2 years experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic preferred
