Two 2 Open Rank without Tenure WOT Division of Hematopathology Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology

The University of Washington Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology is seeking two 2 fulltime pathologists for appointment to join our Hematopathology Division on the School of Medicines clinical practice pathway. Clinical responsibilities will include primarily analysis and reporting of flow cytometry (diagnostic and minimal residual disease testing) some morphology (for lymph nodes tissues bloods and marrows; no surgical pathology and no frozen section coverage) and may include hemoglobin electrophoresis coagulation reporting and possibly molecular diagnostic testing depending on the interests of the candidate and needs of the Division.The successful candidate will be required to learn how to use Macbased software and tools as part of their role. Educational activities include teaching hematology/hematopathology to students technologists residents and fellows. Responsibilities will include being involved in developing an area of scholarship.

This appointment may be at the rank of Assistant Associate or full Professor without tenure due to reasons of funding. Salary and academic appointment at University of Washington will be commensurate with experience qualifications and academic rank.

Assistant Professors WOT are eligible for multiyear appointments that align with a 12month service period (July 1June 30. Associate and Full Professors WOT hold indefinite appointments that align with a 12month service period (July 1June 30. Faculty with 12month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12month period (JulyJune) meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. This position remains open until filled with an anticipated start date of October 1 2024 but is flexible.

The base salary range for this position will be: $19921 to $35727 per month $239052 to $428718 annually) commensurate with experience and qualifications or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan in addition to base salary provided by the University. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations. Compensation provided by UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization.

Candidates must have an M.D. or D.O. (or foreign equivalent) and be Boardeligible or certified in Anatomic and/or Clinical Pathology (American Board of Pathology). The candidate should additionally either be Boardeligible or certified in Hematopathology. Subspecialty expertise in Hematopathology is required. Must qualify for a license to practice medicine in Washington State. In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H1B visa graduates of foreign (nonU.S. medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
