Job Description

Primary Responsibilities
St. Lawrence University invites applications for the position of Title IX Coordinator/Sexual Misconduct Prevention Educator. The successful candidate will be responsible for the institutions compliance with Title IX of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 VAWA Enough is Enough ADA /504 current guidance from the Department of Educations Office of Civil Rights and related federal and state laws. Ensures faculty staff and students understand their rights and where applicable responsibilities under the law. Collaborate with campus entities and College leadership to identify and address systemic problems. This position will: accept reports of sexual misconduct relationship violence and stalking; conduct outreach to all Complainants of sexual misconduct relationship violence and stalking to ensure they are aware of the formal complaint process available supportive measures and on and off campus resources; conduct outreach to Respondents who are involved in the University investigative process for sexual misconduct relationship violence and stalking to ensure they are aware of the formal complaint process available supportive measures and on and off campus resources. Essential Duties: 1. Oversee and coordinate investigations responses and resolutions to complaints to include supervision of investigators. Provide training to all decisionmakers involved in the Colleges response and reporting processes. Review revise and administer the Colleges Sexual Misconduct Policy. Oversee Deputy Coordinators including selection and training. Consult frequently with other departments and divisions involved in the process. Assure that all investigations are conducted in a fair timely impartial respectful and thorough manner. Report student noncompliance to the Associate Dean of Student Life and make recommendations to the Associate Dean as appropriate. Report faculty/staff noncompliance to the Human Resource office and make recommendations to HR as appropriate. Ensure ongoing compliance with Title IX by collecting and analyzing data writing comprehensive reports and maintaining records of investigation. 2. Provide education and training for incoming students as part of the new student orientation program. Develop and implement a sexual misconduct prevention curriculum for all students over four years regarding prevention of and response to sexual misconduct sexual harassment domestic violence dating violence and stalking. Support and/or sponsor awareness programming throughout the year (i.e. sexual awareness month). Maintain a visible presence on campus including outreach via residence halls clubs organizations athletics and academic programs. Participate in new faculty orientation. 3. Conduct outreach to students and student organizations to provide education and raise awareness regarding available resources. Provide training share information and maintain regular communication with resources and support services; including counseling wellness education health center academic services chaplains office and academic advising. Meet periodically with the Advocates (peer sexual misconduct advocacy/support group) and staff at Renewal House. Build and maintain relationships with Title IX colleagues across other associated colleges. Meet periodically with New York 6 (consortium of peer liberal arts colleges) Title IX Coordinators for shared resource opportunities (training adjudication services etc). Work with Human Resources to ensure appropriate resources are also available for employees. 4. Conduct regular assessments of prevention education awareness response efforts programs and services. Communicate information appropriately with the campus community. Leads the development and/or implementation of biannual University climate surveys pertaining to sexual misconduct sexual harassment domestic violence dating violence and/or stalking. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to: Ensuring Universitys policies and procedures are in compliance with federal and New York state laws that apply to the development of an educational environment that is free from discrimination harassment and sexual violence; Along with the Lead Investigator overseeing the selection training work and oversight of Title IX Deputy Coordinators investigators and panel members to ensure application of consistent practices and fair standards for all complaints; Serving as the primary contact to work with both complainants and respondents; Ensure a fair timely equitable and reliable process is communicated and implemented for all reports under Title IX; Remaining current and knowledgeable of federal state and local laws and regulations and understand best practices as related to Title VI Title VII Title IX discrimination and harassment; Serve as the University expert on Title IX requirements and compliance. Create partnerships among the diverse constituency of the campus and local community. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree One year of full time professional experience in Title IX ADA compliance law human resources student life student conduct or related field Experience in the regulatory environment of higher education such as Title IX equity office or student affairs. Knowledge of state and federal regulations that pertain to discrimination harassment and sexual misconduct. Effective oral and written communication organizational and problemsolving skills. Strong conflict resolution negotiation collaboration and facilitation skills and experience is needed. Excellent organizational skills attention to detail and the ability to perform under deadlines and pressure. Strong written verbal and interpersonal communication skills. Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to consider complex issues from diverse perspectives. Ability to exercise a high level of confidentiality. Ability to work effectively and collaboratively as a member of a diverse team.

Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree in social work higher education administration legal studies psychology or related field. Bachelors degree in related fields and significant additional professional experience investigating adjudicating and/or resolving allegations of discrimination harassment or sexual misconduct may substitute for an Advanced degree Three to five years of experience working in a higher education environment including 2 to 3 years of experience progressive professional investigating adjudicating and/or resolving allegations of discrimination harassment sexual misconduct Title IX compliance ADA law human resources student life student conduct or related field in a higher education setting. Demonstrated engagement in professional development activities to enhance knowledge of diversity equity and inclusion experiencing working collaboratively across various departments in fostering success of underrepresented groups and providing a supportive and inclusive environment for all. Previous experience at a rural and/or liberal arts focused institution. Position may require some evening and weekend works as needed.
