About the Sociology Teacher Role
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Sociology Teacher to join our successful Social Sciences department. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to teach Sociology at Key Stage 5 (ALevel) inspiring students with engaging lessons and a love for this fascinating subject.
Responsibilities of the Sociology Teacher:
- Plan and deliver highquality Sociology lessons that cater to a range of learning styles and abilities.
- Create a positive and supportive learning environment where students feel confident to explore sociological concepts and develop their critical thinking skills.
- Assess and monitor student progress in Sociology providing constructive feedback and support.
- Contribute to the development of the Sociology curriculum and departmental resources.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to share best practice and ensure the highest standards of Sociology teaching.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- A degree in Sociology or a related field.
- Experience teaching Sociology at the secondary level.
- A strong understanding of the UK National Curriculum for Sociology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A passion for Sociology and a commitment to inspiring students.
