Team (Project) Introduction
This position supports the Department of Veterans Affairs Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW). The team is composed of Oracle experts including architects administrators and developers working in partnership with Oracle Commercial Professional Services. Together they assess the current environment provide system metrics and documentation and implement approved recommendations to optimize the EDW platform and support future cloud migration. The Developer reports to the Project Manager and receives technical direction from senior engineering staff.
Professional Level Information
The Developer position aligns as Level 1 Engineer at 9th Way Insignia. An Engineer 1 performs engineeringrelated tasks such as identifying technical problems supporting ongoing project work and testing and troubleshooting components. This individual is technically proficient eager to learn and collaborates with other engineers to solve a variety of challenges.
Responsibilities
Design develop and maintain Oraclebased ETL processes and scripts supporting data integration and reporting.
Support the implementation of performance tuning and optimization solutions identified by Oracle Commercial Services.
Work with Oracle tools such as OBIEE GoldenGate and APEX under guidance from senior team members.
Troubleshoot and resolve development and data integration issues.
Document development processes workflows and technical specifications.
Participate in quality assurance activities including testing and code reviews.
Collaborate with team members to ensure deliverables meet customer standards and requirements.
Assist in modernizing existing code for cloud readiness.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Bachelors degree in Computer Science Electronics Engineering or a related engineering or technical discipline.
An additional 8 years of relevant experience may be substituted in lieu of the degree.
5 years of relevant experience in software development and data integration.
Experience with SQL and PL/SQL development in an Oracle environment.
Exposure to OBIEE APEX GoldenGate and other Oracle toolsets.
Strong problemsolving skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment.
Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Tier 2/Moderate clearance. Existing clearances are preferred.
Location
This position is onsite at 1800 G Street NW Washington DC. Must be onsite Monday through Friday for 8 hours per day.
