Job Description
This is a remote position.
Schedule:
- Flexible during client business hours
- 20 hours per week
About the Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented and technically skilled Shopify Developer to join our growing digital team. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience working within the Shopify ecosystem who can confidently manage front-end customization product management and basic development tasks. The ideal candidate has a strong eye for user experience understands SEO fundamentals and can ensure our storefront is optimised for performance and aesthetics.
Key Responsibilities
- Product Management:
- Add update and manage products within the Shopify backend.
- Ensure all product listings are complete with optimised images meta tags and detailed descriptions.
- Theme Customisation:
- Modify and create Shopify sections using Liquid HTML CSS and limited JavaScript.
- Add or remove sections on the homepage collection pages and product pages.
- Customise the header footer and navigation menus based on UX and branding needs.
- Performance Optimisation:
- Optimise image sizes and formats for faster load times without compromising quality.
- Implement basic SEO best practices including meta titles descriptions alt tags and schema markup where relevant.
- Site Maintenance:
- Perform routine site audits to ensure everything is functioning correctly.
- Troubleshoot and fixing minor bugs and front-end inconsistencies.
Requirements
- Proven experience working within the Shopify platform.
- Strong knowledge of Shopify Liquid HTML CSS and basic JavaScript.
- Experience creating and modifying Shopify sections and templates.
- Familiarity with Shopify s admin tools and settings (menus collections navigation etc.).
- Basic understanding of image optimisation tools and techniques.
- Working knowledge of SEO fundamentals especially as they relate to eCommerce.
- Ability to manage tasks independently and meet deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
Nice-to-Have
- Experience with Shopify apps and integrations.
- Familiarity with Google Search Console and Shopify Analytics.
- Understanding of accessibility best practices.
- Experience working in a version-controlled environment (e.g. Git).
