Position Summary:

The AMDSB is currently seeking teachers for our Secondary Occasional Teacher list. Secondary Occasional Teachers work in a variety of schools throughout the AMDSB Region (Perth and Huron Counties).

Whether you are seeking the flexibility provided by occasional teaching or opportunities to move into longterm assignments or permanent teaching positions joining the Secondary Occasional Teaching list is a great first step.

Requirements:

• Good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers (or with an application for OCT Certification in progress); OR currently in a Bachelor of Education program leading to OCT Certification OR awaiting certification with OCT;

• As we are an English board oral and written English proficiency is required;
• Criminal Background Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening (dated within six months);
• Occasional Teachers must be available for half or single day occasional teacher coverage on last minute notice;
• Proven ability to maintain discipline in the classroom (classroom management);
• Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively in a team environment;
• Experience working with GSuite (Gmail Google Classroom Google Docs Google Sheets etc. and Microsoft Office (Word Excel Teams etc. products.

Teacher Candidates:

If you are a current teacher candidate please note that if you are recommended for the Occasional Teacher List you will be placed on the Emergency List until you are a Member in Good Standing with OCT.
