The University of Dayton Research Institute (UDRI) is seeking an exceptional Senior Technical Program Manager to lead cuttingedge research and development initiatives in the Sensor & Software Systems division. This position supports the Digital Architectures and Capabilities (DAC) team located at the UDRI Hangar 01 facility within the Air Force Rapid Sustainment Office (RSO). The RSO increases mission readiness by rapidly identifying applying and scaling technology essential to the operation and sustainment of the
U.S. Air Force. Hangar 01 is the lead in bringing together a comprehensive network of new technological methods processes and techniques. Success comes from our teamwork and mutual respect for each others talents and unique perspectives.
The DAC team mission is to transformatively improve Air Force maintenance practice by implementing predictive maintenance techniques leveraging stateoftheart AI/ML technology. This role is to assist with DAC software development management and deployment providing support during the concepting planning for and of softwareheavy technology projects. They will act as a subject matter expert evaluating RSO DAC projects and provide recommendations for addressing risks and issues and supporting test and evaluation of RSO DAC projects.
Working with multiple RSO program teams to support the scoping configuration and scaling of softwareheavy projects.
Understanding the role of software in each program implementation.
Assessing risk and developing mitigation plans for scaling programs to Air Forcewide utilization.
Supporting a multidiscipline team of technical and programmatic experts to facilitate scaling from prototype or commercial application to military use conditions.
Developing and evaluating software requirements and reviewing vendor documentation.
Evaluating progress and risk throughout the DevSecOps process.
Supporting onsite deployment.
Participating in configuration control activities.
Supports test and evaluation of RSO projects.
Act in a capacity as a Contracting Officer Technical Representative (COTR) type role for Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR)/ Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) Contracts.
Support the Risk Management Framework (RMF) Cyber security requirements.
Bachelors degree in computer science computer engineering or related field
5 years of experience managing software development projects
10 years of onsite government contract support in a technical discipline
5 years of experience with Department of Defense contracting and other transactional authorities
5 years of hardware or software test experience
At least two or more of the following experiences:
o Experience with objectoriented programming and data base systems
o Experience with Agile development or DevSecOps
o Experience with third party software integration such as application programming interfaces (APIs) token authentication dealing with legacy code etc.
o Cloud Services Experiences
1 years of experience with the Rapid Sustainment Office or Major Airframe Program Office
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs
Due to the requirements of our research contracts with the U.S. federal government candidates for this position must be a U.S. citizen
Ability to obtain a security clearance
While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:
Masters degree in computer science computer engineering or related field
7 years of experience managing software development projects
15 Years of onsite government contract support
7 years of experience with Department of Defense contracting and other transactional authorities
10 years of hardware or software test experience
A mix of the following experiences:
o 3 years experience with objectoriented programming and data base systems.
o 3 years experience with Agile development or DevSecOps
o 3 years experience with third party software integration such as application programming interfaces (APIs) token authentication dealing with legacy code etc.
o 3 years experience with Cloud Services.
2 years of experience with the Rapid Sustainment Office or Airframe Program Office
Current security clearance
Expert with Microsoft Office programs
