Process undergraduate admission applications assist students with registration create and maintain student degree audits and process files.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Function & Scope: To participate in the planning and delivery of academic advising services and programs which promote comprehensive educational opportunities for all students. Knowledge Skills and Abilities: Demonstrates ability to work as a team member including assisting with training new advisors. Knowledge and understanding of university policies and procedures academic requirements and campus resources. Competent in multiple computer systems including but not limited to PeopleSoft OnBase StudentBook and Microsoft Office. Ability to identify students needs to make appropriate referrals; maintain the confidentiality of student records. Possesses strong written verbal and interpersonal communication skills as well as strong organizational and management skills. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Cooperates and demonstrates the ability to work effectively and collaborates with administrators faculty and staff in various campus offices as well as a diverse student population in providing for the academic advising needs of individuals or groups of students. Act as the primary contact of the assigned program to relay updates and work on improvements including corrections to catalog and policy pages. Advises students about the development of educational plan options university policies and resources available. Manages assigned special programs requiring specific course registration and tracking. Analyzes student records in preparation for appointments or walkins; responds to student emails in a timely manner. Thoroughly reviews graduation files to ensure the student fulfills all degree requirements as well as potential requirements necessary for a future or additional masters program. Attends training sessions or professional development workshops and disseminates information to staff as well as participates in student success initiatives. Works with lead advisors and assistant director on creating improvements in processing and updating information with each registration cycle. Responsible for verifying that tools created within the department are adequate and effective in meeting the advising goal.
