The Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services (DPSCS) is seeking dedicated candidates to fill important roles within our department. POSITION DUTIES

This position with the Intelligence and Investigative Division (IID) receives analyzes and disseminates intelligence information under the supervision of the Intelligence Manager to help ensure the safety of the DPSCS facilities inmates staff and the public. Analysts share information across multiple agencies and departments and act as liaisons between the Department other police agencies and the judicial system. The Analysts are relied upon to utilize their expertise and insight to assist the Department.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Four years of administrative staff or professional work.

Notes:
1. Candidates may substitute 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university for each year up to four years of the required experience.
2. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university for the required experience.
3. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Masters degree from an accredited college or university for the required experience.
4. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work related to the administration of rules regulations policy procedures and processes or overseeing or coordinating unit operations or functioning as a staff assistant to a higher ranking commissioned officer on a yearfor year basis for the required experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preference will be given to applicantswho possess the following preferred qualification(s).Include clear and specific information on your application regardingyour qualifications.

1.One year experience collecting analyzing assessing and interpreting criminal data.
2. Degree or certifications in Criminal Justice Statistics Cyber Security/Networks Social Sciences and/or other related fields of study from an accredited college or university.
3.Experience with criminal and intelligence databases similar to Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) Offender Case Management System (OCMS) Maryland Dashboard GangNet

LICENSES REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operators license valid in the State of Maryland.
