Please note that this is a 12month contract. There is a strong possibility for extensions and/or permanent conversions but are subject to performance operational needs and will need to be interviewed for. This Temporary FullTime position is 5 days a week on the road servicing members across the Lower Mainland. This position is based out of our Burnaby Depot Fleet Location located at 5590 Goring Street Burnaby. Applicants who are not located within commuting distance of our Burnaby Depot location or are not looking to relocate to the Greater Vancouver/Lower Mainland/Fraser Valley region will not be considered.
We are currently hiring a Associate Fleet Technician based in our Burnaby Depot location.
As a Road Assist Associate Fleet Technician (aka Auto Mechanic) youll be one of the first faces people see when they need help. As part of an outstanding network of 130 Road Assist team members youll provide friendly and professional roadside assistance or towing services to members of BCAA and affiliated clubs.

What youll do
In this role youll be supported through a customized training program tailored to your experience. From basic assistance like battery boosts and tire changes to sophisticated mechanical assistance like diagnostics and tow and recoveries youll gain crucial skills towards the next step as a Roadside Fleet Technician.
Respond to our Members when they need minor mechanical assistance service or towing.
Assist in all weather conditions ensuring a positive member experience throughout the assistance process.
Promote BCAA memberships and general information about affiliate products and services.
Report any issues and take the initiative to resolve them seeking support as needed.
Ensure BCAA vehicles equipment and tools are kept clean orderly and in good working condition.
Uphold BCAA service and safety standards.
Work rotational 24/7 shift work (including weekdays evenings weekends & statutory holidays). You will participate in an annual process to select shifts.
Shifts are posted one month in advance for a onemonth period. You will be eligible to participate in a shift pick process annually and pick from a pool of available vary shifts.
What youve done
Completed your high school diploma or have relatable experience.
At least 12 years of mechanical experience preferably within automotive
Youre a good driver with a clean BC Driver License Class 5. Youre confident navigating our cities and towns regardless of the vehicle size from twoseaters to 5ton trucks.
Capable of safely lifting at least 70lbs during Member service while prioritizing safety throughout the process.
Youre confident using technology (laptops tablets and smartphones) and have strong English communication skills. A second language is an asset.

The hourly range for this position is $28.18to $35.23and is determined viajobrelated knowledge skills experience certifications market demand and internal equity. In addition to base salary and BCAA benefits this position is eligible for a performance bonus target of 5 with the opportunity to earn up to 9.
