Custodial Supervisor
POSITION TITLE: Custodial Supervisor
DEPARTMENT:Facilities Management
REPORTS TO: Director Facilities Management
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Custodial Supervisor assists the Director with the daytoday operation of the Custodial Department including: Substitute cleaning of buildings furniture and equipment on a daily basis performing the duties of team leader training of the custodial staff conducting routine inspections of buildings filling supply orders and other duties as assigned. The Supervisor should have the ability to work with a group of people while maintaining an orderly work environment and good morale.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist the Director in daily duties.
- Adjust job duties for absent employees daily as needed.
- Responsible for informing the Director of custodial problems which may arise.
- Lead Custodian in hosing showers detailing buildings cleaning of outdoor lights/windows etc.
- Responsible for control issuing and monitoring of custodial supplies for/in all areas across campus.
- Assist in the inspection of all facilities for compliance with cleaning standards.
- Report to the Director on conditions in the buildings related to custodial. Be able to recommend changes and improvements for the custodial staff.
- Able to assist custodial staff in the care maintenance and operation of all cleaning machines and other equipment.
- Able to assist custodial staff in any technical phases of custodial work. Assist with training program.
- Must positively communicate with students faculty and staff in completion of work.
- Performs specialized tasks during weather conditions and college closures. In the event of unscheduled closures due to weather events and/or other circumstances serves as essential personnel for reopening the college.
- Responsible for staff coverage of all buildings daily as needed.
- Duties require walking bending stooping climbing ladders lifting moving and/or pushing/pulling of moderately heavy objects.
- Work environment is not controlled and may be subject to extreme weather conditions.
- Hazardous chemicals may be present which require use of caution and safe handling.
- Must be able to work flexible shifts. Overtime and weekend work may be required.
- Must complete all required training as scheduled.
- Other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
- Ability to read write and follow oral and written instructions.
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be able to bend stoop climb ladders move and or push/pull equipment.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
- Must be dependable punctual and have a good attendance record.
- Must be able to work overtime and/or weekends when required.
- Current Arkansas drivers license
