About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Director Commercial to join our team. This is a senior leadership role tasked with delivering best practice commercial results and quantity surveying services to our clients as well as leading a team of commercial management professionals.

This is a client facing position focusing on preparation of quantum claims delay analysis contract administration and management. For our clients at times the work performed by the Director Commercial may be undertaken as a single assignment or require you to manage multiple concurrent assignments for multiple clients. Specific services may include project management winning work bid and tender support claims preparation commercial management procurement project delivery peer reviews and expert advisory work.

For Anvelo the role is to provide leadership to an existing team of professionals delivering client services across disciplines including commercial quantum claims and planning and project controls as well as ensuring we have the right team assigned to tasks to provide our services at the highest level of quality to our clients.

Key responsibilities include:

• Overall responsibility for the provision of Anvelos commercial services to clients.
• Lead a team of commercial professionals in satisfying the full suite of client commercial and contract administration needs.
• Build relationships and grow accounts with existing client base.
• Understand and promote Anvelos full suite of services to clients and clearly articulate our unique service offering.
• Drive new business converting qualified leads into long term clients.
• Managing the delivery of service outcomes including quantity surveying estimates monitoring construction costs from project feasibility tender construction and beyond.
• Commercial claims preparation drafting and negotiating.
• Review and break down claims assess merits for purported claims.
• Detailing of facts and preparation of delay analyses to understand event impacts on projects.
• Identify analyse and manage commercial risk and prepare mitigation strategies.
• Business unit budgeting cashflow forecasting and reporting.

Experience and skills needed:

• Minimum 15 years post graduate experience.
• Relevant formal qualifications in quantity surveying business or law.
• Chartership in quantity surveying is advantageous.
• Experience with quantum claims and quantity surveying preferably in the transport infrastructure and/or heavy construction sectors.
• Ability to plan and orchestrate complex commercial strategies.
• Head contract administration and management.
• Stakeholder management and ability to influence desired outcomes.
• Strong financial and commercial acumen.
• Review and break down of claims assess merits for purported claims.
• Identify analyse and manage commercial risk and preparation of mitigation strategies.
