Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a inclusive educational environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children with autism and creating a supportive and stimulating learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Support the teacher in planning and delivering lessons that cater to the individual needs of students with autism
- Provide oneonone support to help students with autism develop their academic and social skills
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and supported
- Collaborate with the educational team to create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with autism
- Communicate effectively with parents/caregivers to provide updates on student progress and collaborate on support strategies
Qualifications
- Experience working with children with autism
- Knowledge of best practices for supporting students with autism in an educational setting
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Patience empathy and a genuine passion for working with students with diverse learning needs
- Relevant certifications or training in special education or autism support are a plus
DaytoDay
- Assisting the teacher in implementing lesson plans that accommodate the needs of students with autism
- Providing oneonone support during lessons and activities
- Collaborating with the teacher and other support staff to create inclusive learning opportunities
- Adapting materials and activities to meet the individual needs of students with autism
- Communicating with parents/caregivers and other team members to ensure a collaborative and supportive approach to education
