ENGLISHASASECOND LANGUAGE ITINERANT TEACHER
1.0 FTE 1 POSITION)
Position Summary:
The EnglishasaSecond Language (ESL) Teacher will be responsible to the Superintendent of Education (Curriculum) and will provide support for English Language learners from Kindergarten to Grade 8 as required.
The ESL Teacher must be willing to travel to locations throughout Brant Haldimand and Norfolk Counties.
Qualifications:
Applicants who can become qualified prior to the start of the assignment shall be considered.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The ESL Teacher will assist with the implementation of ESL Ministry documents and policies and board protocol in consultation with teachers and administrators identify students in need of ESL support plan and implement programs for students provide ongoing assessment and evaluation of students acquisition of English and report on student progress implement Board procedures related to the referral process for English Language Learners (ELL) in collaboration with school staff; and collaborate with relevant school staff to find ways to use and adapt resource materials for English Language Learners (ELL).
