Job Description
Position Function:
Serves as the Chief Financial Officer enterprisewide overseeing all aspects of Mississippi State Athletics finances while providing strategic fiscal analysis planning and implementation for the new intercollegiate athletics financial/revenue sharing model.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Provide strategic fiscal analysis planning and implementation for new intercollegiate athletics financial performance and revenue sharing model.
2. Provide oversight and responsibility for revenue sharing cap management.
3. Provide leadership evaluation and oversight of budget and financial functions and performance of the Athletics Department.
4. Provide timely and accurate analysis of budgets financial reports and financial trends to assist the Athletics Director in making financial decisions impacting the Athletics Department.
5. Develop short and longterm revenue and expense projections and allocations for Athletics Department.
6. Oversee all business operations budgeting and financial reporting for the Athletics Department.
7. Negotiate and provide fiscal management of all major contracts of the Athletics Department.
8. Serve as the Athletic Departments primary contact with University Vice President for Finance and Administration/Chief Financial Officer.
9. Develop manage and assess funding mechanisms and budgets for all capital projects.
10. Performs similar or related duties as assigned or required.
Supervisory Responsibility: Supervise all finance and business operations employees.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelors degree in accounting finance business administration or related field
Experience: Five 5 years in collegiate athletics administration or experience in senior financial management
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience beyond the minimum.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
A strong background in financial planning and management.
Ability to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with a full range of internal and external constituents.
Ability to communicate with various constituents including coaches and administrators.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong and focused work ethic.
Outstanding interpersonal and interactive skills and the ability to communicate and work effectively with a wide range of constituencies.
Ability to use independent judgment and to manage and communicate information to a range of clientele and constituents.
Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
Exceptional planning organizational time management and critical thinking skills.
Ability to use independent judgment and to manage and impart information to a wide range of clientele.
Project management and leadership skills.
Ability to work evenings and weekend hours.
Ability to travel.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort:
Frequent external imposed deadlines; set and revised beyond ones control; interruptions influence priorities; difficult to anticipate nature or volume of work with certainty beyond a few days; meeting of deadlines and coordination of unrelated activities are key to position; involves conflict resolution or similar interactions involving emotion issues or stress on a regular basis.
