Leading and developing a team of patent counsels supporting each of GE HealthCares businesses;
Engaging with stakeholders to implement a multifaceted IP strategy using patents utility models designs copyrights and trade secrets;
Developing IP strategies to create value and manage risks associated with new products and solutions and entering new markets;
Providing deep patent analysis expertise to support business development partnerships licensing and freedom to practice analyses;
Defining and delivering on key performance indicators for GE HealthCares IP function;
Staying current with changes in patent laws regulations and industry best practices;
Managing patent spend and allocating resources effectively to maximize patent portfolio value;
Working closely with other lawyers in addressing mixed intellectual property/general legal issues;
Collaborating with inside and outside counsel to enforce and cultivate high quality IP assets;
Contributing to crossfunctional teams;
Promoting a culture of experimentation across the patent team and leveraging new tools (e.g. AI) to improve efficiency and quality work product; and
Leveraging data to drive continuous improvement across the IP function.
Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school
Minimum of 8 years of diverse experience in the field of intellectual property including significant experience drafting and prosecuting patent applications with at least 3 years in a people leadership role
Registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office or as a European Patent Attorney
Member in good standing with at least one state bar association
Significant patent analysis experience in support of patent licensing and/or litigation matters
Proven track record of project and process development implementation and project management with minimal supervision required
Interest in a hybrid working role with 3 days at a GE HealthCare campus in Waukesha Wisconsin
Demonstrated ability to develop processdriven solutions to issues
Demonstrated ability to drive innovation and foster a culture of creativity within a team
Demonstrated experience conducting due diligence for transactions
Experience providing counsel to all levels of management
At least 2 years of prior experience as a member of the technology sales and marketing or legal functions in a corporate environment
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities and make real time decisions in a fastpaced environment
Record of successful teamwork strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence.
Excellent influencing skills combined with an ability to build strong working relationships within a matrix environment
Demonstrated ability to think and lead on a strategic level within a complex organization
Ability to deal effectively with people and work in diverse teams sometimes virtually located
Levelheaded approach to risk and managing such risk against business objectives
