About this opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant to support the finance function in completing administrative tasks and supporting the Finance and Payroll Manager in completing monthend and yearend deliverables.

This role will support the finance department with a variety of essential functions including processing financial transactions maintaining accurate financial records and assisting with monthend and yearend closing activities. This role provides an excellent opportunity for growth and development in the accounting field!

  • General Ledger & Journal Entries
  • Accounts Payable & Receivable
  • Balance Sheet Reconciliations
  • MonthEnd & YearEnd Closing
  • Payroll Assistance
  • Tax Compliance
  • Management Reporting
  • Assist with Audit Preparation
  • Other Administrative Duties

Duties include but are not limited to

  • Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliation for allocated general ledger accounts.
  • Assist in managing accounts receivable ensuring timely invoicing collections and reconciliation.
  • Perform daily bank reconciliations and ensure that all discrepancies are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Support the preparation of financial reports and statements.
  • Assist with payroll processing ensuring accurate salary payments and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Support the preparation and filing of BAS and other statutory and regulatory compliance.
  • Assist in the preparation of internal financial reports including balance sheets profit and loss statements and cash flow reports.
  • Assist in preparing for internal and external audits ensuring that all documentation and records are in compliance with accounting standards.
  • Provide administrative support to the accounting department including filing document management and handling inquiries from vendors or clients.

Key Selection Criteria:


To be successful in this role you must have

    1. A degree in Accounting Finance or a related field (or working towards a degree).
    2. 12 year experience in an accounting or finance role.
    3. Working towards CPA or CA qualification preferred.
    4. Proficiency in accounting software (preferably MYOB) and Microsoft Excel.
    5. Familiarity with basic accounting principles and practices.
    6. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial recordkeeping.
    7. Good verbal and written communication skills.
    8. Ability to interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
    9. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fastpaced environment.
    10. Strong organizational and problemsolving abilities.
    11. Collaborative and able to work effectively in a team environment
